We are currently holding engagement events for the role of Special Constable. We have worked to make our engagement events COVID secure, they will take place online, over various dates and times throughout the year. They will allow you the opportunity to learn more about the role and speak to the Special Constable recruitment team.

Working in neighbourhoods, 24/7 operational policing and more specialist roles, You will be a visible presence on our streets, working alongside regular police officers to tackle issues and respond to incidents. What will I be doing?

Working within the Corporate Development Department you will be an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst confident in using analytical software such as Qlik Sense and Excel to an advanced standard.

We are looking for someone with excellent analytical and communication skills; with the ability to build rapport and understand the needs of internal customers, make the best use of data and analytical methods, and then effectively communicate findings to inform business decisions.
You will create innovative analytical solutions to real world problems to ensure Northumbria Police is a data driven organisation. You will be experienced in the use of a range of analytical tools and methods, statistical and data modelling data visualisation and building dashboards.
What do I need?
Education/Essential Experience:
• Proven knowledge of data analysis and business intelligence.
• Hands on experience in business intelligence and/or reporting systems.
• Experience, or a hunger to learn skills in technologies such as Qlik Sense.
• A good level of IT and data analysis knowledge and an ability to express this knowledge in terms appropriate to the audience which includes client senior executives, IT managers and end-users.
• Ability to understand rapidly the business requirements of our clients and to assist clients into shaping these into system requirements.
• Proven skills in querying database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience in managing implementation or upgrade projects would be beneficial.
• Ability to think clearly, and to write clear documentation, which is sufficiently detailed, unambiguous, and complete.
Desirable:
• Relational database experience (SQL/Oracle) would be an advantage

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Test Analysts to join us at Northumbria Police, working on one of the biggest programmes of ICT change currently being undertaken in the North East.

At Northumbria Police, we are in the process of replacing our Police Operational System as we work towards delivering outstanding and innovative police services in the future.

We have had our old system for over 35 years and now we are embarking on an exciting journey, bringing in 2 new systems which will support the Force to deliver outstanding police services in the future.

We are looking for highly motivated Test Analysts that have testing experience in Integration, System and Acceptance Levels to join us and support us on this journey.

What will I be doing?

Working closely with the Test Manager and dedicated project team members, you will lead test activities for specific projects / workstreams, participating in all phases of the STLC (Requirement Analysis, Planning, Development, Environment Setup, Execution and Closure).

You will be accountable for the production and quality of all test collateral including test plans, specifications, test scripts and test reporting in line with project / programme test strategies.

Providing an escalation point for all testing matters across assigned projects, you will ensure that all risks and issues are identified, reported, managed/ resolved or escalated to the Test Manager where applicable.

You will also ensure that the defect management process is adhered to within all projects and that all defects are tracked and progressed correctly.

Using your knowledge and previous experience, you will also identify and advise on opportunities to automate testing activities.

What do I need?

Ideally you will be ISTQB certified with at least five years’ experience working as a test analyst. You will have strong analytical / problem-solving skills and be highly organised with a logical / methodical approach to work.

Possessing excellent communications skills you have the ability to work collaboratively whilst guiding other members of the team. You will also have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders.

You will possess experience of a range of technologies but also have the ability to quickly gain a good working knowledge of new systems / applications / technologies.

Essential:

·       Experience of creating all test deliverables (plans, specifications, scripts, reports etc.)

·       Experience of reading and constructing SQL queries.

·       Experience of working with XML.

·       Experience of working with test automation tools such as selenium or QTP.

·       Web Services/ API test experience using SOAP UI.

·       JIRA (and Xray for Jira) test management tool experience.

Preferred:

·       ISTQB certification at advanced level.

·       Experience of mobile testing.
