We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Group Information Security/Cyber Manager to join our business at a significant time in our transformation journey. This exciting role will provide you with a great opportunity to develop and steer the enhancement of the information security programme across Wesleyan, as well as run Security Operations on a day to day basis.

As a key member of the senior management team within the Technology function we seek your significant expertise to provide strategic insight to ensure the Group has an up to date threat picture relating to Wesleyan.  You will be responsible for defining the overall approach to information security risk management and defining our ongoing transformation programme.

Reporting to the Director of Technology you will liaise closely and offer strategic direction to related governance functions (such Facilities, Risk Management, HR and Compliance) plus senior and middle managers throughout the Group as necessary. You will an expert communicator bridging the gap between the business and Cyber. You will also be pragmatic, and commercially aware.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day to day operation of the function, ensuring potential breaches are identified and acting upon appropriately.
  • Leads design, implementation, operation and maintenance of the Information Security Management System based on the ISO/IEC 27000 series standards, including certification against ISO/IEC 27001 where applicable, operating as part of the Technical Design Authority
  • Forms a “centre of excellence” for information security management, for example offering internal management consultancy advice and practical assistance on information security risk and control matters throughout the Group and promoting the commercial advantages of managing information security risks more efficiently and effectively
  • Commissions the preparation and authorises the implementation of necessary information security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, in conjunction with Risk Management and the Risk and Business Controls Forum
  • Leads the design and operation of related compliance monitoring and improvement activities to ensure compliance both with internal security policies etc. and applicable laws and regulations
  • Leads the education and awareness of the Group as a whole to Cyber issues, including mandatory training and phishing simulations

Personal requirements

Previous comparable IS security experience is essential for success in this role; you will be forward thinking and always up to date with current threats within the IS/cyber space. You will bring extensive experience of implementing an effective security strategy within different industries, ideally with experience within a regulated environment, in addition you will possess relevant IS qualifications such as CISSP or CISM. Knowledge of Risk and Regulatory frameworks (ITIL, CobIT, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS etc) is desirable.

  • Proven stakeholder management skills to executive level
  • Line management experience evidencing the ability to lead /inspire /develop and motive
  • A motivated self-starter, you will hit the ground running to help shape a vision for Cyber

Our multiple award-winning Investment department are a team of 16 people who collectively manage assets of over £7bn.  As an Investment Analyst within Wesleyan you will research a range of UK and international companies, as well as investment trusts and collective investment schemes, in order to provide clear recommendations to our fund managers through written reports, team meetings and group presentations. The role may also include responsibility for trading in shares and bonds, assisting with treasury operations, administrative support and the production of internal and external reports.
